DO BEVERAGE CANS HAVE PLASTIC COATINGS ON THE INSIDE?

All infinitely recyclable beverage cans (including ours) use an ultra thin microscopic liner. It is FDA-approved, with food-grade polymer, to ensure quality and taste. The lining, which is nearly 20 times thinner than a sheet of paper, has no impact on recyclability. In fact its 90 times less plastic material than a plastic bottle and even 10 times less than the plastic used in a glass bottle for the cap and label. No BPAs are used in the lining, and it is 100% melted down and degraded in the recycling process, so it’s not piling up in landfills or the ocean like plastic bottles are.

In terms of microplastics, the coating inside cans is chemically stable and bonded to the metal, not loose plastic, so beverage contact tests show virtually no particle release under normal use. By contrast a 2024 National Institutes of Health report found on average, a liter of bottled water included about 240,000 tiny pieces of plastic (10 to 100 times more plastic particles than seen in earlier studies). And a 2025 report found high levels of microplastics in glass bottles due to cap flaking issues.

We’re not going to solve all the world’s plastic problems with aluminum cans. But we can offer a better alternative to help bring death to unnecessary plastic bottles. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable (plastic bottles are not) and aluminum has the highest recycling rates of any other material, including glass.

ARE YOUR CANS RECYCLABLE?

Yes, our cans are infinitely recyclable. In fact, of all the aluminum produced since 1888, 75% of it is still currently in use. Compare that to plastic which basically isn’t recycled anymore because it’s simply not profitable. #DeathToPlasticBottles

IS THERE CAFFEINE IN LIQUID DEATH?

Only our iced teas and sparkling energy drinks have naturally sourced caffeine in them. Our still & sparkling Mountain Waters and soda-flavored sparkling waters are caffeine-free. All of them will brutally murder your thirst so you can dump its body in shallow desert grave.

IS LIQUID DEATH GLUTEN FREE AND VEGAN?

Yes, all of our beverages are gluten free and vegan.

First, congrats. We can’t wait to meet the little demon. Second, we definitely recommend drinking Mountain Water while pregnant because water is even more important when you’re hydrating for two. Our iced teas and sparkling energy drinks contain naturally sourced caffeine, so check with your doc first if you have questions about caffeine consumption while pregnant.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF LIQUID DEATH?

For technical reasons, the shelf life for Mountain water is pegged at 36 months. Our soda-flavored sparkling waters & iced teas have a shelf life of 24 months. And our sparkling energy drinks have a shelf life of 18 months. So you can definitely use it for your doomsday prep if that’s what you’re asking. 💀

WHAT SIZES DOES LIQUID DEATH COME IN?

Most bottled water on the market comes in 20 oz servings. To deliver more Liquid Death to you and thus more efficiently chainsaw your thirst to bits, some flavors come in 19.2oz cans. If you’re one of those people who can’t finish a drink, most of our flavors come in 12oz cans.
